The Advantage of Independent Imaging
Because we are an independent facility, we aren’t bound by bureaucracy or inflated facility fees. This allows us to focus entirely on two things: providing the highest quality diagnostic images and ensuring they are accessible and affordable for every member of our community.
Community Preventative Screenings
Early detection is your most powerful tool. Big Horn Medical Imaging Center offers low-cost, non-invasive screenings to help you stay ahead of your health.
Carotid Artery Disease
Evaluates the neck's major arteries for plaque buildup to help identify and prevent stroke risks.
CT Low-Dose Lung Cancer
A rapid, low-radiation CT scan recommended for individuals with a history of smoking.
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA)
A simple ultrasound measuring the body's largest artery to identify risks of an aneurysm.
Ultrasound Thyroid
A safe, radiation-free ultrasound to detect nodules, cysts, and early abnormalities.
What to Expect & How it Works
What happens after my screening?
A board-certified physician will review your imaging results and provide a detailed report. Depending on the findings, your healthcare provider may recommend routine follow-ups, lifestyle adjustments, or a referral to a specialist.
How often should I be screened?
Screening intervals depend heavily on your personal risk factors, family history, and age. Talk with your primary healthcare provider to recommend the screening schedule that is safest and most appropriate for you.
Cost, Insurance & Scheduling
Check with your doctor: Most preventative screenings require a physician’s referral. Talk to your primary care doctor to see if a screening is right for you.
Insurance coverage: While some screenings (like low-dose CT lung scans) are covered by Medicare and most insurance plans for high-risk patients, others may be self-pay. Contact your insurance provider to confirm your benefits and out-of-pocket costs.
